Thai Migrant Workers Gather in Celebration, Spreading Cultural Warmth and the Spirit of Diversity and Inclusion

In April 2025, Gangshan District in Kaohsiung was filled with vibrant international energy as PANJIT, together with its agency partners, hosted the annual Songkran Festival — Thailand's traditional New Year celebration — inviting Thai migrant workers to join in and relive the festive spirit of their homeland.
Songkran symbolizes the start of a new year and is one of Thailand’s most important traditional festivals. During this period, people splash water on each other as a way to wash away the past and welcome a fresh beginning. This year, PANJIT specially brought this joyful and culturally rich celebration to southern Taiwan, creating a heartwarming event that offered Thai workers a true sense of "home away from home."
The event featured a lively water-splashing zone, authentic Thai cuisine, and energetic musical performances. Adding to the significance of the celebration were traditional rituals such as the "Water Offering Ceremony" and the "Elder Blessing Ritual," showcasing deep respect for elders and the preservation of cultural heritage.
In light of the recent earthquake in Myanmar, which also affected neighboring areas, this event carried a special message of care and compassion. Through this heartfelt cultural festival, PANJIT hoped to offer migrant workers far from home a sense of warmth, understanding, and acceptance.
"We are not merely organizing a festival," PANJIT emphasized, "but creating a platform to foster cultural understanding and inclusion, truly embodying the core values of DEI — Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion." By integrating these principles, PANJIT aims to build an environment where different cultures are celebrated and respected.
This event was more than just a festive gathering; it was a meaningful occasion of cultural exchange and emotional connection, marking a significant chapter in the company’s ongoing commitment to caring for and respecting cultural diversity.
